How to find and book event vendors in Nigeria
Caterers, DJs, photographers, decorators and planners: how to compare quotes, agree terms in writing and pay deposits safely so nobody disappears before your event.
Decide what you need first
Vendors quote faster and more accurately when you can tell them the basics. Have these ready before you start messaging anyone.
- Date, start and end time, and the venue (or at least the area).
- Guest count, and how many need food and drinks.
- Your budget for each service, even a rough range.
- Any must-haves: a colour theme, a cuisine, a style of music or photography.
Compare at least three quotes
Ask each vendor for an itemised quote: what's included, how many staff, hours on site, and what costs extra. A cheaper quote that leaves out setup, transport or service charge often ends up costing more.
Look at recent work, not just the best photos. Ask for pictures or videos from a real event, and check reviews from people who actually booked them.
Agree terms in writing
Most vendor disputes come from things that were said but never written down. Before you pay, agree in writing:
- Exactly what will be delivered, and when they arrive and leave.
- The total price, the deposit and when the balance is due.
- What happens if either side cancels or the date moves.
Pay deposits safely
On Zulra you can find vendors, message them, receive quotes and sign a simple agreement in the same chat. When you pay a deposit through Zulra it is held until the job is done, so the vendor knows the money is real and you know it isn't gone if they don't show up.
Keep everything in one place: add each vendor to your event's Vendors list so your budget, to do list and run of show stay in step with who's doing what.
On the day
Share the run of show with every vendor a few days before, with arrival times and one contact person on your side. After the event, confirm the job is done so they get paid, and leave a review to help the next host.
