How to sell tickets for your event online

Set prices and ticket types, take card, bank transfer and USSD payments, check guests in at the door and get paid - a step-by-step guide for hosts.

Before you publish

Decide what you're selling before you open sales. Guests buy faster when the options are simple and the details are clear.

  • Ticket types: regular, VIP, tables, early bird. Two or three is usually plenty.
  • A cut-off: when ticket sales end (the start time, or earlier if you need a final count).
  • The essentials on the page: date and time, venue and city, dress code, age limit and a cover photo.

Set it up on Zulra

Create the event, turn on Sell tickets and add your ticket tiers with a price and how many are available. Early-bird tiers can close on a date or when they sell out, and promo codes and promoter links let you track who brings guests.

Add your payout bank before you publish. Ticket money is held until sales end and then paid to you, so if anything goes wrong there is money to refund guests from.

Share the link

Every event has one link that works everywhere: WhatsApp, Instagram bio, email and QR codes on posters. The link preview shows your cover, date and venue, and guests can sign up in a minute to buy.

On the day

Each guest gets a QR pass. At the door, open the scanner in Manage event (or give a door helper access) and scan passes; each one checks in once, so screenshots can't be reused. You'll see how many have arrived in real time.

After the event

Payouts go to your bank after sales close. Your statement shows every sale, refund and fee.
