How to send a cash gift to a celebration back home
Sending money to a wedding, birthday or burial in Nigeria from the UK, US, Canada or anywhere else - options, timing and what to write.
Your options
Bank transfers work but you need the right account details, they can take days and the celebrant may not know who it came from. A gift tied to the event is simpler: it arrives with your name and message, and the celebrant can thank you.
Sending a Zift
On Zulra, open the event (or the person's page) and tap Send a Zift. Pay by card (in your own currency where available); the celebrant receives naira in their bank account. Before you confirm you'll see the exchange rate, the fee and roughly what they'll receive.
Timing and what to write
Send before or on the day - it means more while the celebration is happening. Add a short message with your name and how you know them ("Love from Auntie Bisi in Manchester"), especially if the family is large.
